I'm Building a Social Archive of Amazing but Underrated Ghanaian Music

I think it's official, I'm a digital archvist. I say this because, I seem to get the most joy researching, cataloguing, and finding interesting new ways to present information, history and stories using technology.
I'm deadass.
It started with Squid Mag when you really think about it (hell, I resurrected our creative database — Bahari Blue — from years gone by). Then recently, thanks to AI, Ghana's marketing awards (from the Gong Gong Awards to the CIMG Awards), then my Storeroom project, which hosts a more visually engaging Ghana Music Awards archive, a WIP National Science and Math Quiz awards archive, and sometime next year, an interactive archive of Ghanaian TV ads.
But that's not why we're here. Right now, I'm excited to tell you about the ƒoha Archive, my music archive showcasing the incredible sounds from Ghana that are either forgotten or considered too niche. ƒoha which is actually, ƒo ha simply means play music.
It's also my attempt at consistently publishing videos on TikTok and YouTube, until I'm comfortable enough to start showing my face without cringing too much. The video below took a lot of cajones for me to make public. Buy me kelewele when next you see me.
youtube.com/shorts/Oac0QBNrr-0It's everything the video says. I want people to discover talents like Drvmroll, Robin Huws, Bryan the Mensah. I wanna share the music I enjoy with others, and hope along the way, I meet people who share my tastes. And no, I'm not trying to be a DJ.
First posts are up. Follow me across TikTok and YouTube on this project.
Follow along on this journey and see what worlds it leads us into.
